Every week, we do the SoCal Student Section of the Week, but it got us thinking, with over 2000 schools in Southern California, why just name one winner? That’s why we will acknowledge four regional winners and any nominees in those regions. We bring you, the SoCal Student Section Regional Student Section of the Week...try saying that five times fast.   INLAND EMPIRE STUDENT SECTION OF THE WEEK DAMIEN PIT: The Pit, which won the 2019 SoCal Basketball Student Section of the Year title, picked up where they left off. The Pit came ready for Chino Hills and who knows, the Chino Hills Dawgpound.  https://twitter.com/DamienSports/status/1215898245072769024 No Dawgpound in this one as Damien of La Verne took control back from Chino Hills after the Okongwu/Ball Era in the Spartans 77-62 victory. The Pit was loud and...
No, this student section isn’t just a football student section. While it is not as insane as the football student section, the Dawgpound can still bring it indoors and they do that on Friday when the Bishop Amat of La Puente hosted St. Paul of Santa Fe Springs. The Dawgpound got in their groove, but they got into savage mode and more so at the end of the first half. The best savage move came with less than 10 seconds left in the first half when Bishop Amat hit four quick points to take the lead at the half. https://twitter.com/SoCalSections/status/1215846629829275648 The Dawgpound resumed the savagery in the third quarter and rowed their way into the fourth quarter. Despite the tough loss to the Swordsman, the Dawgpound showed their love for the Lancers and their teachers...
The Cage has been rattled and people responsible for rattling have paid for it last week. The Capistrano Valley Cage of Mission Viejo went on the road to face Mission Viejo and went wild in a city rivalry and a South Coast League game. The Cage went to savage mode from the get-go with reading the newspaper during Mission Viejo starting lineup. The good news was that they saw some great After Christmas deals on page two of the paper. https://twitter.com/SoCalSections/status/1215107479454928896 The Cougars went on a quick run and the Cage was loving it all the way until halftime.  At halftime, the Cage battled with the Mission Viejo cheerleaders with some fantastic flips. https://twitter.com/SoCalSections/status/1215115973692280832 The Cage kept the crazy at a max despite the Diablos coming back in the second half, which ignited the Diablo...

What a year for the Student Section this football season. We have eight new student sections in our SoCal Top 25 and this seems to be the theme this season. With Student Section craze on the rise, new student sections have pop up. Well, they aren't new, but new to the Social Media world. In order to be the best and be recognized with the best, you have show off your school spirit. We saw insane themes and fog machines galore. Places like Party City owe a big thank you to these student sections you're about to see in this list. The fog machine was a big thing as well as the streamers and we know that because the best student sections showed it off. We expect next football season to go wild in the...
I’m sure I said this before, but Los Alamitos Locos has the blueprint on how to run the perfect student section. The themes, props, large crowds, home and away, big heads of local sports reporters and a ‘Manny-quin’, which is a mannequin of yours truly. Well played Locos! The Griffins lost some big stars and had to face the challenge in a tough Sunset League. That’s where the Locos made their presence felt. “Our student section rolls better than any section I’ve seen in 34 years of coaching.” Los Alamitos head football coach Ray Fenton said.  The Locos rocked it from the get-go, taking the SoCal Student Section of the Week title on the opening week. Normally when a student section wins it early, they quiet down a bit on social media, but the Locos...
The student section game has improved drastically and the San Diego improved in showing off their student section in 2019. While we moved from a Top 20 Ranking to a Top 25 Ranking list, we added five new student sections to the list, but three more student sections make the list this year after missing out last year. The student section game was strong this year that we have to recognize five other student sections that barely missed the cut. Student Sections like Hilltop of Chula Vista, Coronado, Montgomery of San Diego, San Pasquel of Escondido and La Jolla Country Day were noticed and it hurts to not add them on the Top 25. What helped in making the Top 25 this year is Social Media. What might be a must for the Student Section...
The student section game has improved drastically and the Orange County pretty much wrote the script on how you’re supposed to make the Student Section game competitive. In order to make this a competition, social media marketing needs to be consistent. If you want to get recognized week after week, you need to share it and let everyone know you’re the best. Plus, it sounds like school leaders have made friendships. Who knew?! No social media game means you may be missed. Like a tree falling with no one around, it makes no noise. While we moved from a Top 20 Ranking to a Top 25 Ranking list, we added five new student sections to the list and only two more student sections make the list after missing out last year, so we had some...
The student section game has improved drastically and some Los Angeles Student Sections finally took notice to the competition. While we moved from a Top 20 Ranking to a Top 25 Ranking list, we added five new student sections to the list, but three more student sections make the list this year after missing out last year. The student section game was strong this year that we have to recognize five other student sections that barely missed the cut. Student Sections like the Warren Cave of Downey, Royal Kingdom of Simi Valley, Grace Brethren of Simi Valley Red Zone, Saugus Blue Crew, and the Newbury Park Panther Pit were noticed and it hurts to not add them on the Top 25. What helped in making the Top 25 this year is Social Media. What might...
