For some student sections, this is their last chance to make a strong impression to get in the SoCal Football Student Section Rankings in four weeks. This will be the same week for each of the four SoCal Regions. We have only had one San Diego Student Section to take the SoCal title. We had two Los Angeles Student Sections to take the title, but one of them shared the title. When you are part of a voting poll that broke a SoCal Student Section record, sharing is caring in big ways. Bishop Amat Dawgpound of La Puente and Chino Cowboys Country both took the Week 9 SoCal Student Section of the Week honors. Will we have another tie or we have a solo champ? Only way your student section can make it as one...
A tie? Yes, but this is SoCal Student Sections and we share the wealth. Besides thanks to you, we broke a record for most votes for the Student Section of the week with 3,169 votes. The all-time record is 5,734 votes when Rancho Cucamonga took the 2018 SoCal Football Student Section title over the Villa Park Black Pack! Now, we know a tie isn’t as ideal and while past winners brag about winning it alone, remember this, 3,169 and the Bishop Amat Dawgpound took 35% of the votes, which means the Dawgpound took over 1,100 votes whereas Week 8 winner took 37% of the 1,846 votes, which means 683 votes.  So while the Dawgpound tied, they went crazy on the votes. Nothing to be discouraged about! Now, it did take awhile for the Bishop Amat...
MANNY’S GAMES OF THE WEEK Last Week Record: 14-6 2019 Record: 149-53-1 After going 18-2 in Week 8, I dropped to 14-6 last week. Well, let me make my amends. Grace Brethren of Simi Valley and Sierra Canyon of Chatsworth were very evenly matched and the score showed it. I picked Grace Brethren, but it was the Trailblazers took the 13-7 victory. I took Sierra Canyon just a tad lightly. I won’t do that again. The Pacific League title game and I have been impressed with Muir of Pasadena and thought this was their year, but Crescenta Valley of La Crescenta was the top dawg in their 28-14 victory.  I am impressed with Inglewood turn around season, but apparently not that impressed since I picked North Torrance to win and I was wrong with a...

We have a lot of rivalry games and we also have games where playoff hopes are on the line.  For some of these student sections, they will look to make a splash and move up in the rankings, which comes out next month.  Also, some of these student sections want to take one of the remaining five SoCal Student Section of the Week titles.  Time is running out, but before we get to some key student section battles, let’s recap last week Student Section craze around the Southland.   WEEK 8 RECAP We start in the Inland Empire where Temescal Canyon Blue Hole of Lake Elsinore came ready to go to watch their Titans take on...the Titans of Notre Dame of Riverside.  https://www.instagram.com/p/B3yb9XLnmyN/ It was a big Sunbelt League matchup and the Blue Hole went...
We have gone through eight weekly winner in Southern California and no one from the Los Angeles region has taken the top spot. That finally changed this past weekend. With the battle for the Kings of Cameron against West Covina, the South Hills Huskies of West Covina was ready to go and despite the tough season for West Covina, the Huskies wasn’t going to take West Covina lightly. While South Hills cruised to a 42-13 victory and the Dawgpound enjoyed every minute of it. While the Dawgpound enjoyed the victory, they also weren’t going to take the West Covina Bulldog Nation lightly as well. https://twitter.com/SouthHillsASB/status/1185659948954374144 Bulldog Nation has done a phenomenal job this season, so the Dawgpound was ready for them. Rocking yellow, the Dawgpound was bright and loud and let everyone on Cameron Street...
MANNY’S GAMES OF THE WEEK Last Week Record: 18-2 2019 Record: 135-47-1 After two subpar weeks, I finally have a close to perfect week. Only two losses and one of them was an upset.  I picked Santa Barbara over Lompoc in a big Channel League game, but Lompoc took the dub with a 27-21 victory. Lompoc has a slightly stronger schedule and I should have seen that. The other game I didn’t pick correctly was Vista Murrieta over Temecula Valley. Temecula Valley won 20-17 in a Southwestern League game. I can’t figure out the Southwestern League, but I don’t think anyone can. Everyone is beating everyone up in that league. We might have a 4-way tie for the league title there. This week’s goal is to top the 18-2 record from last week. Let’s see...

I wonder if we will ever have an LA Student Section to take the SoCal Student Section of the week crown? We’ve only had one San Diego student section take the SoCal crown. The Inland Empire has been rocking it this season while Orange County has a large group of great student sections. Hopefully the other two regions bring some great student sections to battle with the OC and the IE. Before we check the top student section battles in Southern California for this week, let’s recap last weeks top student sections.   WEEK 7 SOCAL STUDENT SECTION RECAP Over in San Diego, the San Marcos Blue Crew made a second straight appearance to the SoCal of the week voting poll after the Blue Crew battled in the stands again, this time against El Camino...
While Orange County has a large amount of great student sections, it is the Inland Empire that has the powerhouse ones. For the fourth time this season, our SoCal Student Section of the week champion hail from the IE and for the second time this year, it is a Baseline League student section! We’ll get to the champs in a moment. Meanwhile in San Diego, the San Marcos Blue Crew seem to be the boss when it comes to marketing themselves as a school with amazing school spirit. The Knights had a battle with El Camino of Oceanside and I’m sure the Blue Crew battled with the El Camino Jungle. https://twitter.com/sm_bluecrew/status/1183090451860996097 In the end, San Marcos snuck by the Wildcats in a 13-12 victory. The Blue Crew representative San Diego for the third straight week....
