What a year for the Student Section this football season. We have eight new student sections in our SoCal Top 25 and this seems to be the theme this season. With Student Section craze on the rise, new student sections have pop up. Well, they aren't new, but new to the Social Media world. In order to be the best and be recognized with the best, you have show off your school spirit. We saw insane themes and fog machines galore. Places like Party City owe a big thank you to these student sections you're about to see in this list. The fog machine was a big thing as well as the streamers and we know that because the best student sections showed it off. We expect next football season to go wild in the...
I’m sure I said this before, but Los Alamitos Locos has the blueprint on how to run the perfect student section. The themes, props, large crowds, home and away, big heads of local sports reporters and a ‘Manny-quin’, which is a mannequin of yours truly. Well played Locos! The Griffins lost some big stars and had to face the challenge in a tough Sunset League. That’s where the Locos made their presence felt. “Our student section rolls better than any section I’ve seen in 34 years of coaching.” Los Alamitos head football coach Ray Fenton said.  The Locos rocked it from the get-go, taking the SoCal Student Section of the Week title on the opening week. Normally when a student section wins it early, they quiet down a bit on social media, but the Locos...
And you thought we are just going to talk about Student Sections?! How can you focus on just student sections when the Band is killing and putting on a show just as big as the rowdy students?! While we always talk about student sections, let’s also meeting the rowdy group on the other side of the stands. We bring you, the Band Q&A! https://twitter.com/NorthwoodDen/status/1180299872152371200 Our first ever Band Q&A comes from Northwood of Irvine. This band is a loud group and they can battle with the Northwood Student Section, the Den. This fantastic student section can’t be missed and interacts in the game. We spoke with Senior Marching Band member Benjamin Zietz, Senior Trumpet player Ethan Magursky, Senior Band Member Marvin Israel and Junior Trombone player Annie Hu on what it takes to be the...
MANNY’S CIF STATE FINALS PICKS Last Week Record: 8-4 2019 Record: 223-95-2   The plan this year was to get fans involved and have them pick winners every week. Tough task and a goal for the 2020 season. I'm sure they would have done better than me. All i'm hoping is to avoid 100 losses. That would be my State Title. Hopefully another four loss week is in store. Let's finish strong.   OPEN DIVISION De La Salle of Concord (12-1) vs. No. 1 St. John Bosco of Bellflower (12-1) at Cerritos College of Norwalk, Saturday, 8pm Manny's Pick: St. John Bosco After pulling off a huge comeback victory to take the CIF-SS Division I Title, QB DJ Uiagalelei will look to finish the job! The student section game has improved drastically and the San Diego improved in showing off their student section in 2019. While we moved from a Top 20 Ranking to a Top 25 Ranking list, we added five new student sections to the list, but three more student sections make the list this year after missing out last year. The student section game was strong this year that we have to recognize five other student sections that barely missed the cut. Student Sections like Hilltop of Chula Vista, Coronado, Montgomery of San Diego, San Pasquel of Escondido and La Jolla Country Day were noticed and it hurts to not add them on the Top 25. What helped in making the Top 25 this year is Social Media. What might be a must for the Student Section...
MANNY'S CIF STATE REGIONALS PICKS Last Week Record: 13-12 2019 Record: 215-91-2 Well, this past week was not my week to say the least. I should just stick to Student Sections. The student section game has improved drastically and the Orange County pretty much wrote the script on how you’re supposed to make the Student Section game competitive. In order to make this a competition, social media marketing needs to be consistent. If you want to get recognized week after week, you need to share it and let everyone know you’re the best. Plus, it sounds like school leaders have made friendships. Who knew?! No social media game means you may be missed. Like a tree falling with no one around, it makes no noise. While we moved from a Top 20 Ranking to a Top 25 Ranking list, we added five new student sections to the list and only two more student sections make the list after missing out last year, so we had some...
The student section game has improved drastically and some Los Angeles Student Sections finally took notice to the competition. While we moved from a Top 20 Ranking to a Top 25 Ranking list, we added five new student sections to the list, but three more student sections make the list this year after missing out last year. The student section game was strong this year that we have to recognize five other student sections that barely missed the cut. Student Sections like the Warren Cave of Downey, Royal Kingdom of Simi Valley, Grace Brethren of Simi Valley Red Zone, Saugus Blue Crew, and the Newbury Park Panther Pit were noticed and it hurts to not add them on the Top 25. What helped in making the Top 25 this year is Social Media. What might...
